Having the right tools to get the job done well is always appreciated! Colorado Open Lands has been able to save thousands of dollars through the donation of items on our wish list by our generous donors.
Your support, whether financial or with the donation of the actual item, helps us keep our budget focused on our conservation projects. Although you will see requests for multiples of the same item, donations for one of any of them will still help us considerably. A small monthly donation toward one of our bigger items is another way to help us out! Please contact us if would like to help acquire any of the following:
- GPS unit (mapping grade) for our Geographic Information System for mapping conservation easement sites, riparian areas, and other important aspects of a property being preserved. Estimated cost is about $5,000.
- LCD monitors (2). As technology has demanded that we upgrade our computers, we have found not all our monitors will work with the newer systems. The gift of one or two 17 or 19 inch monitors will allow us to use our computers more efficiently. Estimated cost is about $175 each for a total of $350.
- Projector Screen. Our existing 20+ years old projector screen has become worn with tears and folds, making the screen unreadable. We would like to replace it with a newer version for our various meetings and presentations. Estimated cost is $200 to $300
- Conference Room Chairs (12). As both our office staff and board of directors have grown in numbers, the current conference room chairs no longer fit our needs. We need to be able to fit 12 chairs in the same space where we currently have 8. Smaller chairs would allow us to accommodate the new size and replace the existing well-worn and very aged chairs. Estimated cost is about $210 per chair for a total of $2,100.
- Telephone Headsets (5). Our staff spends an incredible amount of time on the phone – with landowners, project partners, etc – to complete each project. The repetitive stress of cradling a phone against their neck for long periods of time creates neck and back issues. Reliable headsets allow both the caller and receiver to hear and speak well and allow our staff to make extended phone calls free of pain. Estimated cost is $250 - $350 per head set. Total cost for all five is $1,250 - $1,750.

Donor Challenge Grant
A Colorado Open Lands donor has issued a $500 challenge grant to us toward a new receptionist desk, an essential item on our Wish List. Four other donors have risen to the challenge so far, but we are not yet at our goal of $1,500. Donate now and help us meet this challenge! Funds raised above the $1,500 will go toward other critical items on our Wish List that are key to a smoothly operating office: three telephone headsets and a new set of conference room chairs to accomodate our growing staff and Board of Directors.
